Typical Applications:
Trunnion Mounted Ceramic Ball Valves have the same applications as ceramic floating ball valves. Trunnion Mounted Ceramic Ball Valveshave excellent performance and much longer life time than soft seated and metal seated ball valves in most corrosive or/and abrasive applications. Design Features:
1. Forged steel 3 piece body design and trunnion mounted ball: Cixi Fly ceramic trunnion ball valves can fulfill existing connection requirements such as face-to-face dimensions and different flange types, e.g. ASEM B16.5, EN1092-1, JIS B2220, DIN2501, etc. Generally, ceramic trunnion mounted ball valve is a standard design for sizes 5" (DN125) and larger.
2. Ceramic fully lined body to avoid any corrosion or/and abrasion: Ceramic ball, seats and lining are assembled perfectly inside metal body of Trunnion Mounted Ceramic Ball Valves which can absorb most physical loads and shock from pipelines to protect ceramic trim. Because of the excellent corrosion-resistant and abrasion-resistant of zirconia and alumina, it has been proved that Trunnion Mounted Ceramic Ball Valves have better performance than PFA or PTFE lined ball valves and metal seated ball valves in corrosive and abrasive applications.
3. Customized variety operation types are available: Most gear boxes, pneumatic actuators and electric actuators are connected to Trunnion Mounted Ceramic Ball Valves by a yoke that meets ISO 5211 specification. The ISO 5211 yoke is re-movable and easily modified to meet special requirements. Levers are also available for ceramic trunnion ball valves on customers' require.
4. Corrosion Resistant: High-purity 99% Al2O3 ceramics, 99.7% Al2O3 (alumina) ceramics, ZrO2 (zirconia) ceramics, solid tungsten carbide, silicon carbide are all available for ceramic trunnion ball valves. These materials will not interact with almost all organic and inorganic chemicals, nor contaminate the process medium. Their physically and chemically stability against most acids, salts and alkalis will last for many years with little or no corrosive degradation. That's why Trunnion Mounted Ceramic Ball Valves have much longer life time than PFFE and PFA lined ball valves in corrosive applications.
5. Abrasion Resistant: The hardness of 99% alumina ceramics is about HRA88, harder than zirconia (about HRA85), solid tungsten carbide is about HRA 90,which are about 8 times harder than stainless steel. As valve trim, these hard ceramic components make Trunnion Mounted Ceramic Ball Valves work well in the most severe abrasive conditions, such as pneumatic conveying to transport silicon powder, coal powder, Mg powder, etc. So Trunnion Mounted Ceramic Ball Valves are almost the most abrasion resistant valves in the world.
6. Ceramics-to-Ceramics spherical seated: The perfect grinded spherical seal between ceramic ball and seat is adopted by Cixi Fly Trunnion Mounted Ceramic Ball Valves, which can ensure a tight shut off sealing---zero leakage. The anti-scratch design between ball and seat can prevent sealing surface from being marred and scratched by hard particles in the medium, and Trunnion Mounted Ceramic Ball Valves will not be stuck anyway, then broken of the ball is avoided.
7. V-port balls and Round-port balls: Cixi Fly offers all size of Trunnion Mounted Ceramic Ball Valves two different ports: Round-port and V-port balls. In general, round-port ceramic ball valve is often used as an on-off valve. If precise and stable control performance is required in any corrosive and abrasive applications, V-port Trunnion Mounted Ceramic Ball Valves will be a better choice because of the equal percent characteristics.
